One last straggler from 2025 - want to take this opportunity to talk about proper care with your harvest if your looking to have it euro mounted. There’s many different ways to skin a cat out there and everyone doing euros has their methods. For how I’m doing them, in order to get them looking pearly white and clean as in the photo, that starts with how the hunter has kept it before dropping it off - and it’s not rocket science!
🦌 Preferably - keep the fur on, this acts as a safety barrier between the skull and the outside world.
🦌 If you can’t get it here immediately, toss it in your freezer. If you don’t have freezer space, find a safe place and submerge the skull in a bucket of water (preferably out of direct sunlight if it’s got a rack on it).
🦌 Don’t let it rot and dry up, this can cause permanent discoloration as blood and grease embeds itself inside the micro pores of your skull - You want that skull froze or hydrated as it waits to be euro mounted.
Very simple steps here ladies and gents! Thank you Greg for the continued support and for keeping your sons buck properly stored!
