A friend just posted this and reminded me of some wisdom I can pass along. They say the secret to completion is not to tell anyone. Don’t announce it. Keep your idea/project private until it’s done.

The psyche is rewarded by the telling of it. You get the same feelings of success when people positively respond to your idea as you do in the completion of the project. In other words, the “high” peaks then fizzles out before you can finish it.

That’s why writers should never, ever tell a story idea until it’s written. I can’t tell you how many ideas I’ve squandered by talking about it too much. It never gets written.
