Supporting our veteran community takes collaboration, and yesterday’s Veterans Stand Down was a great example of that.

Our TalentBase team enjoyed the opportunity to connect with local veterans, work alongside our community partners, and share information about resources and opportunities available to veterans and their families!

We appreciate the organizations, volunteers, and community members who continue to come together to make support and resources more accessible throughout Kern County.

We’re grateful to have been part of the event and look forward to continuing these partnerships and connections!

Graduation is a milestone of our program, but Veterans CareerBridge does not end there.

These moments bring our graduates together with employers, elected officials, community partners, and others who want to see them continue moving forward.

For upcoming cohorts, we are expanding Phase 1 with more in depth career preparation and individualized career planning.

The goal is to help participants leave with more than information. We want them to have a clearer direction, practical next steps, and continued guidance as they begin putting their career plan into action.

We recently had the privilege of celebrating the graduation of our third Veterans CareerBridge cohort!

We were joined by three incredible guest speakers: David Smith, CEO of Mojave Air and Space Port; Richard Baca from the Employment Development Department (EDD); and one of our very own graduates, Manuel (Manny) Baltier.

Each brought a unique perspective to the ceremony, making the opportunity to recognize our graduates even more meaningful.

As we celebrated the completion of Phase 1, we were reminded of something important: **Our veterans bring valuable experience, skills, and perspectives to the workforce.** Their next career chapter isn't about starting over. It's about building on what they've already accomplished and identifying new opportunities to put that experience to work.

Completing Phase 1 is an important milestone, but it is only one part of their journey. Our graduates now move forward with continued career support, employer connections, and guidance as they explore their next steps.

To our graduates, congratulations! Thank you for your commitment, your participation, and the experiences you brought to this cohort.

And to our guest speakers, community partners, and everyone who helped make this graduation possible, thank you for being part of this milestone.

As we prepare for our next Veterans CareerBridge cohort, we’ve been listening closely to what our current participants have found most helpful.

Three things continue to stand out:

• Connections to local resources and organizations
• Practical resume preparation and feedback
• Breakout activities that give participants space to work through career decisions together

Veterans CareerBridge provides a structured environment for veterans, transitioning service members, military spouses, and eligible dependents to explore career options, strengthen their preparation, and better understand the resources available to them.
