PDOF defined- The principle of the conservation of linear momentum assumes that the only forces that act on vehicles during a collision are the collision forces between the vehicles. From Newton's Third Law the collision forces that act on the vehicle are equal in magnitude but opposite in direction. The direction of the force can be reported as a global angle or as a local angle. When measured as a local angle that is relative to the vehicle it is called the Principal Direction of Force or PDOF.

It’s been a busy month for AAI. I’m working a few cases. One will be heading to trial in April, fortunately just an injury case from a passenger truck into a Commercial truck that was completely across all Lanes of RT13 on a dark/rainy night. Truck had inadequate reflective markings which would have alerted on-coming traffic that he positioned his tanker in a hazardous place.
An under ride system would have also prevented or lessened the injuries.
This case will be a time/distance analysis with perception/reaction coming into play. May need some
Night photography to show jury just how invisible a tanker across a highway can be.

Second case a lot more sad. A double fatal collision outside of town towards Tburg. Lots of snow/ice covered roads. Primary factors were mechanical and environmental since snow was falling like crazy that day.
