We’re watching the world change in real time. And I keep coming back to the same question — what do we actually build in its place?

The last time I heard Gaya Herrington speak, she talked about how apocalypse movies show people turning against each other in disaster. But real life tells a different story. When natural disasters strike, people come together. They show up for each other. They build something on the other side.

I think about that a lot when it comes to brand building.

In a world that can feel dystopian and hopeless, building a brand with intention is one of the most radical things you can do. It means you’re not sitting back and watching things collapse — you’re an active participant in what comes next. You’re choosing to build something that means something. For your community, for yourself, for the world you actually want to live in.

That’s why I do this work. Brand building is world building. Next week I’m going deeper on what that actually means — and what it asks of us. More on that in next week’s blog.

Swipe through — and if this resonates, read the full piece linked in bio. I’d love for you to build this world with me. 🌿

talking to lots of people to understand the market is one of my favorite things to do—especially when they’re people i’d otherwise never connect with.

i just wrapped a project with 15 market research calls, and it was so interesting to observe their behavior.

being a good brand marketer means being a good listener and picking up on patterns.

i learned so much from talking to so many different people & i couldn’t help but notice two archetypes emerge.

i know which one I’d be lol… which one are you? tell me in the comments

authority isn’t built by positioning yourself as a guru or savior

it’s built through honest communication rooted in integrity and the willingness to repair when needed.

we’re all human. we all have blind spots.

listening, sharing what’s true, and releasing moral superiority is the foundation of trust that lasts 💌

where can you soften your ego to connect more deeply with those you’re meant to serve? 🤔💭💘

branding should be a form of self-expression, not performance 🕊️

if you’re feeling stuck here are 3 ways to check in

1. be honest with yourself… do you really pay attention to who you are and what you actually like? everyone always says just be yourself, but to actually do that…. you need to start paying attention to yourself the way you pay attention to a friend. start a gentle inquiry with yourself & be playful! ask friends and family what they think of when they think of you… & take notes 📝

2. get clear on the problem you solve. if you don’t have clarity, everything will feel hard. you’ll try to market offers that don’t make sense, or you’ll over-give trying to prove your worth… neither scenarios are fun😩 so be crystal clear and filter your content & process through that lens. ask: does this deserve a place on my biz feed or a page in my journal?? discernment is key!

3. are you creating conditions for your creativity to thrive?! or are you consuming more than you create? this ties back to #1 get clear on what fills your cup & engage in those activities to clear your creative channel. go for a walk, do a craft, yoga, meditation, breathwork… whatever brings you back to center and tunes out the noise

we’re all creative beings, whether we believe it or not! so give yourself the time and space you need to bloom🌸

let go of other people’s formulas and timelines and tune into what’s uniquely YOU. that’s your super power🥰
