My grandmother with her formal gardens and my father with the most amazing summer fruit and flower gardens. It was common for me when I was just a young girl growing up to go out to the gardens to pick my raspberries and blueberries for my cereal and a beef steak tomato for a sandwich for lunch time. I will never forget the awesome flavor that came from their fruits. I knew for certain that I had
found my passion when I worked as seasonal help for a florist at the age of 19. Since that time I immersed myself as much as possible in greenery. I worked with and studied under the direction of designer Mr. James Mc Bride in the early 80's and the again in the 90's. Mc Bride has been featured several times in Southern Distinction Magazine. I was extremely fortunate to work with this gentleman as he fueled my passion. Creating designs for family and friends through the years I was eventually asked to design for weddings and holiday events. At Christmas time I was getting repeat orders for my designs . So I decided to start my own business. I have what one might call a virtual florist. You can see my designs at my website. No overhead so I can pass on the savings to my clients. My clients get to enjoy my classic designs at a lower cost. As I create and design flora pieces I really don't think of it as a job but a creative outlet for me. I'm passionate about what I design, it's in my heart, and I take a lot of pleasure in being able to create a smile or a reaction of sincere delight on the face of a client. My signature flowers I love working with are orchids, hydrangeas, ferns, and calla lilies. I'm most pleased when I create a design that truly captures the way the flowers or plants look like in nature. My work has been called elegant and very old world. It's a great feeling to hear those kinds of comments, as it makes me feel like my hard work and efforts are appreciated...and I think most designers need that, because the object of the game is to make people happy and "wow' them. So with this passion and blessed gift, I look forward to meeting new clients and accommodating their unique floral needs. Please contact me at (518)892-5801 or by Email: [email protected].
