Let’s talk about a silent project killer that almost nobody talks about: the automatic thread cutter. ✂️

Don't get me wrong, auto-cutters are an amazing luxury. But here is what happens behind the scenes: when your machine clips the threads and moves to a new color, that tiny bobbin tail under the needle plate frequently misaligns.

If you just press "Start," that loose tail can get caught, causing instant tension spikes, loops on top, or a massive bird's nest underneath.

Here is my favorite studio trick to prevent it:

1️⃣ Stop when the machine cuts the thread.

2️⃣ Use your manual "needle up / needle down" button to take one single stitch.

3️⃣ Gently pull the top thread to draw that bobbin tail straight up to the front of your fabric.

It takes exactly three seconds, but it saves hours of picking out tangled threads.
