Man…when your wife surprises you by marketing your book without you even asking. 😂

I walked in and saw her rocking the Leadership Alone Is Not Enough shirt, and all I could do was smile.

This is what I mean when I talk about what each person brings to the table in a marriage.

It’s not always about money. It’s not always about some big gesture.

Sometimes it’s simply saying, “I see what you're building, I believe in it, and I'm going to support you.”

That's partnership, that's marriage.

We both have our own careers, goals, dreams, and responsibilities. But when your spouse is working toward something, you find ways to support the mission.

She didn't have to put that shirt on, but she did!

She wanted to.

And that means something to me.

I appreciate you, dear ❤️

Now apparently R.E.A.L. Training Solutions has a new marketing department. 😂😂

What if FEAR—not lack of ability—is the real reason you’re not where you want to be?

Sometimes you have to step up, volunteer, take the assignment, and do the things other people aren't willing to do.

In this episode of **The REAL Leadership Podcast**, I share a lesson I learned early in my military career that changed how I looked at opportunities, fear, and stepping outside my comfort zone.

I call it **“The Shed Game.”**

The lesson was simple:

**Growth rarely happens when you stay comfortable.**

If you want to advance in your career, build a business, become a better leader, or simply become a better version of yourself, you can't allow fear and comfort to make your decisions.

Know where you want to go.

Then ask yourself:

**Does what I'm doing today align with where I say I want to be tomorrow?**

Sometimes getting there means doing the things other people aren't willing to do.

What if saying “NO” is the very thing keeping you from the life you say you want?

We’re quick to say:

“Nah, I don’t want to do that.”
“That’s not my job.”
“I don’t have time.”
“That’s not for me.”

But maybe “Do I want to?” is the wrong question.

The better question is:

**Does this opportunity align with where I’m trying to go?**

Your career. Your business. Your relationships. Your education. Your finances. Your life.

You don’t have to say yes to everything. But stop letting comfort, fear, and emotion automatically make the decision.

Before you say no, figure out where you're trying to go—and ask whether this opportunity gets you closer.

**NEW EPISODE IS LIVE**

Are you saying **NO** to the very opportunities that could get you where you say you want to go?

That's the REAL question I'm getting into on this episode of **The REAL Leadership Podcast**.

We talk about fear. Comfort. Career decisions. Missed opportunities. And why knowing where you want to go has to come BEFORE deciding what deserves a yes or a no.

Because here's something I've had to learn myself:

**Stop letting today's comfort make decisions about tomorrow's life.**

If you know where you're trying to go, start making decisions that align with getting there.

Your job is an agreement—not your identity.

One of the biggest mistakes professionals make is tying their self-worth to where they work.

In this clip, I explain why understanding the transactional nature of work can actually make you a stronger leader, teammate, and professional.

What do you think? Should people separate their identity from their job?

At some point, we have to stop asking:
“What is leadership doing wrong?”

…and start asking:
“What am I not doing right?”

Here’s the reality most people avoid:

Leadership alone does NOT produce performance.

Performance comes from alignment:
• Leadership sets direction
• Management builds the system
• Ex*****on (followership) delivers the results

And that last part? That’s where most organizations struggle.

We’ve created a culture where everyone wants to lead…
…but no one wants to be responsible for ex*****on.

Complaining.
Passive resistance.
Doing the bare minimum.

That’s not a leadership problem.
That’s a performance problem.

In this episode, I break down:
• Why followership is being ignored
• How it impacts culture and ex*****on
• What organizations must fix to improve performance

If you care about accountability, culture, and real results—this is for you.
