My hometown newspaper posted an article about Kelly Roussel's mobile romance bookstore. The concept alone got my attention and led me to click for more information. Here's what it said:

Roussell, a mother to a 3-year-old girl and 7-year-old boy, is a respiratory therapist by day. Although her days are filled with priorities and responsibilities, reading and operating a mobile bookstore are her passions. She makes time to do something she loves.

The take away for me is, "Do something you love or at least like a lot before your last rotation around the sun. 🫠 " If you're still waiting or you've started the journey, stop by the Passion Project (Part 1) online March 31, 6-7:30pm (eastern).

During our time together we're going to look in the mirror and examine our 'Eulogy self" and "Resume Self" (checkout David Brooks if these labels are intriguing but their use is unfamiliar).

Joining me as your support guides for the evening are Devin Anglin and Dr. Aasha Joshi. Know that [in my most welcoming voice] "we'll be waiting on you. You already belong. 25+ people will be with you. You are not alone."

Kelly Roussell has transformed her love for reading into a mobile bookstore.

It's Sunday night. Are you exhausted - in a good way - from dreaming, doing, and pursuing your passion? Or are you that person who has a little indigestion or anxiety because the next day is your workday and you can't fathom having to go into the place, work with the people, and do the thing that you dread for a paycheck?

If either of these scenarios resemble you, you have to join Part I of my online workshop (March 31, 6pm eastern), The Passion Project Wine and Wonder: Pursue Your Passion & Live the Dream

I'm even more jazzed because creatives - Dr. Aasha Joshi Aasha Joshi and Mr. Devin Anglin Devin Anglin - are joining me for a story telling vibe about how we jumped into the pursuit while navigating our commitments, our concerns and fears along the way. If you've ever wondered the difference between a passion and a hobby, you need to be in the place. If you've been feeling alone and incoherent about what's next, come where you belong - Tuesday, March 31, 6pm eastern. We have a place for you.

This is a BYOB event - bring your own brave and a beverage if you choose.
Invest in yourself! See you there.

It's the end of the traditional work week and it's likely, if you're like me, you've exhaled, "TGIFed" and given at least one thought to your weekend plans. Now, if in the exhale and any preparations for activities during the weekend, you've had the following thoughts

- Wow, I'm exhausted but I'm unsure where the time went.
- Ok. My work is done but what's next?
- Tonight, today, this weekend.... I can't wait to do .... {fill in the blanks}

you should register for part one of a two part virtual workshop, "The Passion Project Wine and Wonder: Pursue Your Passion & Live the Dream".

Lend your voice to a growing network of individuals - passion connoisseurs, wonderers, and conversationalists - who, at a minimum, share an interest in getting to know what they care most, and desire to muse and resource with others who are tired of putting off for tomorrow, the pursuits (interests, goals, businesses, dreams) of today.

Here are added bonuses: 1) all participants will receive a free 30 minute one-on-one, personalized "Dialogue with Doc" follow up session with me - scheduled at your convenience. 2) It's online - virtual - so you can participate from a place of comfort and convenience.

For $30 (plus tax and Eventbrite fees) - this workshop cost less than a meal for two at a fast casual restaurant or cocktails and appetizers at your local bistro. Message me if you have any questions.

Poetry...who knew? The Cylburn Arboretum and the Enoch Pratt Library collaborated in summer 2025 and provided a wonderful opportunity for writers (experienced, novice, published, unpublished) to walk their grounds, not only to learn about the Arboretum's history, but potentially to find inspiration to write. I heeded the call and trekked with my dog (since it was a dog-friendly space) along the grounds believing that I would be inspired to finish one of my unfinished, drafted academic pieces.

Unbeknownst to me, the universe channeled my energy from the academy to a new world and a beautiful piece of poetry was birth in front of one of its oldest trees. This tree was not any old tree but a 60 year old Dawn Redwood Tree. It had been struck by lightening in a recent storm and was left bent and charred, but standing in death. This tree was dead - by all measures - and was for sure no longer biologically alive but clearly Mother Nature had other plans - for me and this tree. New life was born in the charred out limbs and hollowed trunk and in me as I stood in front of it, creativity erupted. The results was a poem entitled, "Yes It's Gone But Not Forgotten" published and now on display on the shelves of the Social Science department at the historic and reknownedEnoch Pratt Library (central branch) in Baltimore MD.

Won't he do it? Yes.... {you know the rest} 😉

If you're ever in Baltimore, visit the Cylburn and stop by the main library on Pratt Street (downtown Baltimore). Peruse the shelves, follow the leaves, and you'll find me.
Onwards and upwards...
