Number 8 is the one that gets readers the most.

1️⃣ Readers lose interest after the first few pages. The first few pages of your book should be captivating. This is where you either get or lose your readers.

2️⃣ The book feels confusing and lacks clear structure. No reader likes to feel confused. Before you compile your full book, it's important you structurize your chapters into a flow that's sensible and enjoyable to read.

3️⃣ The writing sounds robotic or emotionless. Try to throw some life into your writing, tell relevant stories, use soft words and not words your readers struggle to comprehend, understand your audience and know how to tailor your message to really reach them.

4️⃣ Chapters repeat the same ideas without depth. This is also a structure problem. Structure your book so well that even two similar chapters drive deeper messages.

5️⃣ The author’s voice feels inconsistent throughout the book. Consistency is important to keep your readers glued to your message.

6️⃣ There is too much information but very little clarity. Don't be vague, your first goal should be for your readers to understand the story/message/information you're passing to them.

7️⃣ The storytelling feels forced instead of natural. Learn to blend in with your story, even though you're just the one telling it.

8️⃣ Readers struggle to understand the core message of the book. This one diminishes your book in the eyes of the reader. The core message of your book should be clear from the beginning.

9️⃣ The book focuses more on sounding intelligent than connecting with readers. Focus on connecting with your readers, that connection is what keeps them reading (your work).

1️⃣0️⃣ By the end of the book, readers still don’t know what the author was truly trying to say. Don't make your readers go through this, be straightforward.
