It's finally public! I had the chance to be part of the content development team for the new Epilepsy and Pregnancy Medical Consortium web site. This new organization pulls information together in an easy-to-navigate website for people with epilepsy and their providers. With careful planning, people with epilepsy can have safe pregnancies and deliver healthy babies.

New Year's Resolutions...love 'em or hate em? By the 3rd, many of us talk about how we've already missed them. Sometimes, resolutions are a good thing. Get your health in order? Absolutely. Work through some personal issues? Sure.

What about business resolutions? Each year, we business owners vow to put more structure into our businesses. How's that working for you? Tell me below - no judgement, promise.

If you've made yet another resolution to get your business in shape, start by listing your priorities. Where do you need help? Accounting? Business management? Finances? Process improvement? Find experts to help (I've got referrals, BTW.)

What's missing from that list?

Content.

Have you thought about your words and how you use them affect your ability to connect with your audience? Without structure, which sometimes starts with writing down words your audience does and doesn't want to hear, those words won't do what they need to. If you've resolved to get your business and your brand in order in 2021, company language must be a priority.

What's worse than renegade copywriting (i.e. writing without guidance or direction)? Without structure, copywriting can be like herding cats, especially when multiple people are writing.

Things are all over the place. You can end up with good copy, but it often takes a whole lot longer than it should. And, even if you string together a few good sentences, they might not be the ones you need to use to engage your audience. (BTW, renegade copywriting also means you can find yourself with cliches like "herding cats!)
