I completed a 3 month postpartum doula contract with the most soul filled mom. In those 3 months , we experienced together the true healing of mother daughter magic ! Whether that be a newborn baby born into the soul of a passed mother or grandmother, becoming a soul mother, reconnecting with a daughter , or becoming a grandmother . These past 3 months were filled with so much divine feminine energy. The connection and healing amongst us every night was pure magic.
Thank you to my magic mom who gifted me this amazing box of spiritual love and healing to continue on the journey we unexpectedly started together!
We Indeed brought the postpartum practical magic 🪄 ✨!

I will miss you and I am so grateful for you! ✨

It’s official , I’m a Nana!
My daughter gave birth to her beautiful daughter today. They are wearing the matching outfits that I bought them to be introduced to the world in! My heart is so full with excitement and pride! God is so good! 💜

What a great Sunday!
Along with a beautiful win for a Baltimore Ravens opening day , we had the pleasure of visiting Crescent Moon Farms today. A family owned farm that prides itself in providing farm fresh pasture raised products. We were so warmly welcomed by the owner, their children and family. A tour of the farm , and animals was given (so many baby chicks) along with an education on why this farm and food is so different than others. Impressed is an understatement.
We stocked up with eggs, chicken and beef for the autumn months. The prices are so reasonable and the quality just can’t be beat. If you are looking to feed your family with additive,antibiotic and chemical free eggs, meats, honey and broths. Run don’t walk to this beautiful family owned farm.
We will definitely be back !

If you haven’t heard , Labor and Lullabies is now providing in-home newborn and postpartum nursing services. This includes newborn physical assessments , weight checks , and feeding evaluations.
Postpartum RN Physical assessments can be done as well. This included, vital signs, abdominal assessment, C-section and uterine function along with breast and ni**le care.
Our RN Shannon is now taking newborn and postpartum assessments in your home separately or together .

Labor and Lullabies is excited to announce that we have brought on a registered nurse who specializes in newborns, lactation , pediatrics and postnatal care.

Meet Shannon Hoover RN!
Shannon has an extensive and diverse nursing background, caring for patients across the lifespan from pediatrics and newborns to adults and geriatrics. Home health holds a special place in her heart because it allows her to provide compassionate, individualized care where patients are most comfortable: in their home!!

In Home pediatric nursing and newborn care in particular, continues to be one of her greatest passions.

Beyond nursing and in home postpartum care her most treasured role is being a mother of four. She successfully breastfed all of her children and has personal and professional knowledge on all things lactation. She currently homeschools three of her children. She is loving every minute of motherhood and the opportunity to learn, grow, and make memories alongside her cherished children.

Shannon prides herself on having a very full life. When she’s not caring for children , homeschooling and being a nurse she enjoys time connecting with her husband. You’ll most likely find her family spending evenings at the dance studio, cheering her girls on and doing what she loves most—being together.

Having the opportunity to utilize her nursing , pediatric and postpartum education with Labor and Lullabies is something she’s excited to start.
We have lost no time in getting her schedule booked for overnight and daytime care.

Being a nurse, mother, caregiver, and advocate is an extension of who she is and the many gifted hats she wears as a woman. Shannon’s goal is to bring professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, personalized nursing care directly into the homes of the Labor and Lullabies families who need her support and her gifts the most.
