🚨 SCAM ALERT 🚨

Bandera Electric Cooperative has been made aware of a phone scam targeting our members.

A member recently received a call from a (713) phone number claiming that BEC was issuing credits for overpayments made during the last 12 months of billing and that members would receive a free gift card.

This is a scam! BEC is not currently issuing credits for overpayments or offering free gift cards. If you receive a call like this or any suspicious call claiming to be from BEC:

❌ Do not provide personal or account information.
❌ Do not provide payment information.
❌ Hang up immediately.

The votes are in, and thanks to an incredible turnout from our members and community, this year’s BEC Foundation Member Choice Contest ended in a tie! 🤩

Congratulations to Bandera Recycles (Don't Make Waste Bandera) and Out Of The Way Community Corp., our 2026 Member Choice Contest winners! Because of the tied vote count, both organizations will receive a $5,000 grant to support their important work and make an even greater impact in our community. 💙

Did you know the average Bandera Electric Cooperative electric pole stands around 40–45 feet tall? 😳⚡

That means you’d need nearly SIX 7′4″ Spurs players stacked on top of each other to reach the top! These poles safely carry power lines above roads, trees, and everyday obstacles while helping deliver reliable electricity across the Texas Hill Country. 💡⚡

While the Spurs may slam dunk a basketball 10 feet in the air, our linemen work at even greater heights to help keep our communities connected.
