Fordair Wireless Service information and network status updates regarding Fordair Wireless in Coulee City and Almira,

06/22/2026

Forward from the PUD:

We are getting calls about customers on Hubs 95, 229, and 230. A fire that had been mostly extinguished as of last night has reignited. The fire has jumped highway 17. At this time we have no estimated time to restoration for any gateways associated with these hubs. Once fires are extinguished and conditions are safe to do so, fiber lines will be inspected for damage. At that time, we may need to do emergency maintenance to replace damaged fibers.

We'll reach out as soon as more information is available.

Thanks,

Jeff Jones

Just FYI: Do NOT press the “reset” button on your router in an attempt to restart it, that erases the programming and sets it back to factory defaults. If you are having trouble with a router, unplug the power cable for 5-10 seconds to give it a reboot.

If you are a wireless internet customer, unplug the power injector at the same time as the router, this will reboot the radio outside as well. The attached picture is what the power injector looks like. Make sure not to unplug the network cables, as plugging them into the wrong port can potentially damage equipment.

All service should now be restored, the PUD did advise that they may need to cut fiber lines to do repairs in the near future, but will try to notify beforehand. Thank you for your patience and feel free to reach out if you are still experiencing service interruption.

Latest update from the PUD below, no ETA yet. One of the impacted area contains the uplink equipment so until that is repaired, service will be down.

Good afternoon,

As you are probably aware, there are still many spots in the county where power is still down. As a result, there are still areas where gateways are down on homes, and a couple of instances where a hubs have depleted their back up battery power and have gone down. Generators have been deployed to hubs that were deemed critical to supporting public safety.

Yet to be determined is the extent of damage to physical fiber lines across the county. This too will continue to evolve, and there may be instances where fiber needs to be cut to facilitate power line or other fiber repairs. Whenever possible, we will inform before cutting.

The attached picture represents the density of affected hubs by service area. Hopefully this provides perspective on the effect of the weather event while giving a sneak peak of things to come.

More updates will be provided as information becomes available.

Thanks,

Jeff Jones
