Grandfather Vineyard & Winery was founded in the spring of 2003 when owner Steve Tatum planted the first vine. Starting as a hobby, Steve did some home wine making for a few years. After son Dylan Tatum graduated from Surry Community College, the family decided they wanted to open a commercial winery. They opened the doors to the winery in May of 2011, offering world class wines.

Did someone say National Rosé Day!?😍Luckily our Chambourcin Rosé hits the menu TODAY!!! On the drier side with a light acidity, this medium body rosé holds flavors of strawberry, honey, and grapefruit. Not too shabby for summer sippin’🙂‍↕️ Enjoy a glass with live music by The Neighbors from 2-5pm along with The Lazy Bear Eatery from 12-5pm today!

Paws for a Cause and Memorial Day Weekend are just around the corner! Could we get any luckier?!🤭Join us for a weekend full of live music, food trucks, local artisanal vendors, specialty drinks for you and your furry friends!🥂

🐾Our annual fundraiser day, Paws for a Cause, celebrates the Avery and Watauga Humane Societies this Saturday, May 23rd! No entrance fee!

🪏We operate on our normal hours this coming Monday, 12-6pm, come relax with us!

🌦️We are prepared for all weather types, any changes to events will be posted as soon as possible.
