🚨 Business Owner PSA 🚨

We’ve recently heard from several businesses that received notices encouraging them to pay an outside company to “renew” their North Carolina business license. These notices can look very official, but here’s an important reminder:

You do NOT need to pay a third-party company to renew your North Carolina business registration.

Businesses can handle their renewals directly through the North Carolina Secretary of State website quickly and securely.

Third-party services may charge unnecessary fees for something you can easily do yourself online.

✅ File your annual report directly
✅ Pay only the state’s required fee
✅ Avoid extra processing charges

Before paying any renewal notice, take a moment to double-check where it’s coming from. When in doubt, go straight to the official Secretary of State website.
