Did you know hairdressers used to be some of the most influential people in society?
The people behind the kings, queens, ect who listened to all but made the elite look their best.
The ones who were invited under special instructions to things most people couldn't dream of?
Why? Bc you had to have skill, professionalism, and poise to be able to get those jobs
Now, people consider hairdressers "below or undneath them"
Heck, I've even had conversations with people who couldn't believe i understood the difference between anionic or ionic compounds.
Or couldn't believe i knew what language Cami was and could speak some of it (broken yes, but i might be able to make it thru market)
Or that i studied 6 languages (you may not even know that)
And was even asked "if you're so smart, why are you a hairdresser then?" (I did give the gentlemen a lesson on manners after answering his question that day, too, lol)
Why?? Because I LOVE IT
I love being able to educate others on how many options customized color has, being able to make someone feel their best because of a new color or cut, being the ear they tell us all their life moments to, but most of all being able to give them the confidence and reassurance that theyre heard and look amazing after an appointment with me.
Turning around and gifting that knowledge to others who are starting or changing careers and being able to help them grow w lessons and education that will continuously evolve
Photo above shows how i used 700 grahms of color to color a whole lace cap >>but didn't get a finished result pic.
(It was late, and i didn't even think of it til after she left)
But boy, was it gorgeous! Being able to customize with Aveda hair color and helping change lives with color blending and al the skills we pulled out to color this.
The average hair color is 60 to 80 grahms of color.
On most artistic colors that includes 120 grams of color
This was such thick hair it took 7x the average amount of color(not including gloss)
Happy to be able to make a difference in someones life thru hair.
Literally, she said "it changes my life" >i cried like a baby.
This is what it's about guys.
Helping, changing, educating
