My global mindset and experience in the USA and New Zealand working with youth and multi-disciplined teams in disadvantaged countries has given me a broader understanding of how students engage and achieve in education through a variety of learning methodologies and approaches. My passion to serve inspired me to create the InZone Project wherein I have been able to observe and reflect upon the needs of communities and their students. Through my collaborative and partnership efforts, I have been able to create a successful learning model and environment for students. Participants in the program have gained success and realized notable improvements in their academic achievements and in their social lives. I believe that no child should be left behind and I utilize a grass roots approach to best serve underachieving youth. The InZone Project was recognized by Vodafone New Zealand and I received the “World of Difference” Award in 2013. The In Zone Project was also visited by Prime Minister John Key, who has been interested in expanding the reach of the organization. In 2014, I co-founded ScanOne LTD, a biometric device that was originally developed to provide an easy way of monitoring students within many sectors, including educational, business, and the corporate setting. The device helps track student location and attendance. In 2016, ScanOne was awarded the NZIOB “Safety Excellence” Award.
