We often hear people say, "Why do you train for all this stuff? Isn't that the job of the police?".
Fact is, It's not that simple. When an active shooter engages, most of the killing is completed within 3 minutes. Meanwhile, the police are still minutes away. This crisis is compounded by the reality of Police not knowing what the threat looks like, the building layout, where and how many victims there are, and the best entry points. However, TSS is already onsite, has trained at that client facility and performed scenario based exercises to prevent, mitigate, eliminate and respond to the needs of our fellow citizens fighting for their life. Our job is to immediately stop the shooter, and then stop their victims from dying. Accomplishing this requires constant intensive training with highly qualified instructors.
We take our responsibilities very seriously as should all armed private security contractors. Sadly, most don't. They complete the 4-8 hours of state mandated classroom based coursework per year, the shooting qualifications every other year, and nothing more. Whereas, TSS officers and agents must train a minimum of 16 hours per month within:
Active Killer Interdiction, Tactical Emergency Combat Care, De-escalation and Crisis Negotiation, Close Quarters Tactics, Dynamic Entry, Breaching with Distraction Devices, meeting or exceeding US Federal Air Marshal Firearm Qualifications, Detainment and Arrest, Law Enforcement Deconfliction, Israeli Combat Krav Maga, Move/Shoot/Communicate, Marine Combat Hunter Program, among dozens of other curricula.
We believe your life is worth more than mediocre security, and you do too. Expect more, demand TSS.
