I’ve been making a few updates behind the scenes at Buckets to Blooms.

As I’ve continued creating, I’ve realized I love a mix of furniture refinishing, light upholstery, custom builds, and wedding projects. So I spent some time updating my website to better reflect what I do and make it easier to inquire about custom work.

If you have a furniture piece you’d love to update, need a little upholstery work, or have an idea for a wedding or custom project, there are now dedicated project pages and inquiry forms on the website.

I’m still figuring things out as I grow, but I’m excited about the direction things are headed.

Take a look around and let me know what you think!

✅ Paint colors picked. ✅ Flooring bought. ✅ My best girl helping (even if I had to steal her for a sleepover cause I miss my frisbee loving girl)

Moving along with the house renovations. Even when sweat is pouring and I can’t lift my arms because I sprayed 20 gallons of paint- I still love renovating.

𝐀𝐬𝐤 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐲: 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬

At a recent vendor show, a customer was asking questions about one of my furniture pieces and kept saying, “If you don’t mind me asking…”

𝐘’𝐚𝐥𝐥, 𝐚𝐬𝐤 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲.

It made me realize some people think all makers and artists keep their techniques a secret. While some do, this girl is more than happy to share.

The truth is, most of what I know came from other people sharing what they’ve learned, along with a lot of trial and error in my own workshop.

You’ll start seeing me share more blog posts on my website about my projects, the techniques I use, and the lessons I learn along the way. Not because I’m an expert, but because I love creating, learning, and encouraging others to try something new too.

𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐬.

So if you’re curious about a project, a finish, or how I achieved a certain look, don’t be afraid to ask. Chances are I’ll gladly tell you exactly what I did.

This bench started with new wood, but I wanted it to feel like something that had been loved and used for generations.

Truth be told, most of my projects start because I see something I love but not the price tag—or because I walk past a scrap pile and think, “I can make something with that.”

My latest blog isn’t so much a tutorial as it is a look inside my process, the experimentation, and the techniques I used to give this bench its timeworn character.

If you love old wood, creative problem-solving, and finding beauty in unexpected places, I’d love for you to give it a read.

One of my goals this year was to start sharing more of the how behind what I do.

I love learning, experimenting, and trying new things—and I believe we’re never too old to keep growing.

Today I published my very first how-to blog on the Buckets to Blooms website! In it, I’m sharing one of the ways I create an aged, timeworn wood finish using paint , salt, and plaster of paris.

If you’d like to see the full process, you can read it here:

Thanks for following along as I learn, create, and share what I’m discovering along the way.

🐴 𝗪𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗥𝗡 𝗟𝗢𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗦, 𝗗𝗢𝗡’𝗧 𝗦𝗟𝗘𝗘𝗣 𝗢𝗡 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗦𝗘

I only made 4 of these one-of-a-kind western wall pieces, and 2 have already sold.

Created from reclaimed wood and antique ceiling tile, each piece has its own character, history, and western charm. I love finding old materials and turning them into something unique.

No two are exactly alike, and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

Available now in my booth at Hwy 425 Marketplace.

I brought in so much cute stuff for y’all today. My Americana stars and wood tags have been popular so I made more of them.

The wood tags are 5 for $15 and the stars are $10-$20. Display your Americana pride all summer long. I also made a few wood risers priced $10-$15.

If you’ve had your eye on either of these furniture pieces, you may want to look at the price tag again. I’ve got some new pieces to move in and these are looking for a new home.

How cute is this little riser shelf? I’ve been recycling my scrap wood piles and there’s only 2 of them. I will be doing a booth restock later this week and you can find them @ Hwy 425 Marketplace.

Riser is 14” long on top and 3 3/4” tall.

There’s just something about that perfectly imperfect, chippy layered texture that keeps me reaching for Debi’s DIY Paint every time. 🤎

I wanted this piece to feel worn, lived-in, and full of character — like it’s been loved for years. The layered finish paired with this beautiful Redesign with Prima transfer on the doors gave it exactly the vintage charm I was after.

One of my favorite things about creating is watching an old piece slowly come back to life with texture, detail, and a little imagination.

DIY paint colors used - Sailor Blue, Apothecary, Mint Chip.
