Our second round of planting peas today. First we sifted composted soil into our wheelbarrow to top off the raised bed. Then we put the sprouted peas (I soaked too many peas before St. Patrick's day!) in amongst the pansies that wintered over.

Luckily, this snow and ice storm held off long enough for us to celebrate a little boy turning four years old.

We have begun a new school year. This is our 10th year in this location. We are getting ready to cook up a year's worth of applebutter. Unfortunately, the orchard we go to each year to pick our apples was hit hard by a late freeze. It is the first time that we won't be picking our apples. The search is on for local, low-spray apples!
