🦝⚠️ Rabies Awareness in Michigan: Know the Facts

Rabies is a serious viral disease that affects the nervous system of mammals, including wildlife, pets, and humans. It is almost always fatal once symptoms begin — which is why prevention and quick action are so important.

According to the current 2026 Michigan Rabies Positive Animals Map, Michigan has already confirmed 7 rabies-positive animals this year: 6 bats and 1 skunk (as of April 20, 2026).

Wildlife Most Commonly Linked to Rabies:

What To Do If You Encounter Wildlife:

✔️ Never handle bats or wild animals with bare hands
