There’s one spot in almost every kitchen that’s total chaos, and nobody thinks to fix it: under the sink. 👀

Be honest, right now yours is a graveyard of half-empty cleaning bottles, a mystery sponge situation, three brushes you don’t recognize, and one lonely rubber glove. It’s some of the easiest-to-reach real estate in your whole kitchen, and it’s being wasted.

Here’s the fix:
🧽 Pull everything out and toss the empties and the mystery bottles
🧽 Add a small riser shelf or a two-tier organizer — that under-pipe space is vertical, use it
🧽 Corral like with like in a caddy you can pull out (cleaning in one, dishwasher stuff in another)
🧽 A tension rod across the top = instant hanging spot for spray bottles

Ten minutes, and a zone you’ve been ignoring for years starts actually working for you.

Louisiana summer isn’t technically over (it’s never over), but the KIDS are back in school and that gear is just hogging prime real estate now. Corralling it does two things: reclaims the space you’re about to want for cooler-season stuff, and means next summer you’re not rebuying goggles for the fourth year straight.

Toss the broken, bag the outgrown swimsuits for donation, store the rest together in ONE labeled bin. Memorial-Day-you is thrilled.

The house is quiet. The kids are at school. This is the window, and it closes at 3:15. 🗑️

The playroom is the ONE space that’s almost impossible to declutter with little “helpers” present. Every toy you reach for suddenly becomes their favorite toy they were definitely about to play with. So while they’re gone, this is your moment.

Here’s the game plan:

🗑️ Grab two bags, one trash, one donate. Broken, missing pieces, happy-meal junk → trash. Outgrown but good → donate.

🧸 Group what’s left by type (blocks, art, pretend play) so cleanup has a system, not a “shove it all in one bin” situation.

📦 Keep a rotation: box up half, swap every couple weeks. Fewer toys out = more actual playing, less mess.

Want them on board later? Make it a counting game “let’s find 10 toys to give to kids who need them.” Turns a fight into a mission, and they take real ownership of it.

Do it now, and the after-school drop-off lands in a room that actually resets in five minutes.

Here’s the catch, I said start EARLY and SMART, not buy more junk. Because between now and January there’s a birthday, a holiday, a teacher gift, and roughly 4,000 new toys entering your home whether you’re ready or not.

So get ahead with two moves:

🎁 Start a gift stash. ONE bin, one spot, where you toss the deals you grab early. Come December you actually FIND them instead of rebuying. (We’ve all bought the same gift twice. No? Just me?)

🧸 Pair it with a quiet “one in, one out”, as new stuff comes in, something outgrown goes to a donate bin in the playroom closet. Painless.

Shop early, stash it in one place, clear as you go and December feels like joy instead of chaos.

The truth is there’s no “perfect” bin system — but there ARE choices that save you a garage meltdown come October, and choices that create one.

The biggest one?

Sort by HOLIDAY, not by type. You decorate one season at a time, so you should be able to grab one labeled bin and go — not dig through “all ornaments” looking for the Halloween ones.

And the Louisiana PSA nobody thinks about: your attic hits oven temps by mid-June. Candles, certain ornaments, anything that can melt or warp — keep it in the garage, not up top.
