EMPLOYEESPOTLIGHT 🎉🎉
Welcome back to March’s Employee Spotlight! This month, we would like to highlight one of GRSA’s Reliability Engineers, Mo Samman. Since joining the team back in August of 2021, Mo has assisted in numerous equipment strategy development efforts for fixed equipment and piping, which requires scenario definition, risk evaluation, and maintenance planning.
Mo started off his engineering career by receiving a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from UT Austin and started working in the equipment strategies world in April of 2015. Over the course of his career, the accomplishment he has been most proud of was when he “developed excel tools in 2016 that have been used until today. They’ll finally be phased out with the latest software migration, but having tens of thousands of hours saved as a result of my vision is something I’m very proud of. One of the tools will still likely be used by the mechanical department for cost benefit analysis.”
When asked what his favorite part of working with GRSA is, Mo responded, “I have a level of trust that enables me to strike the work life balance that works best for me and my family. Having worked in the industry with a lot of the employees at GRSA, it’s also reassuring knowing that my team is as technically competent as anyone could hope for.”
😎
Mo, shown pictured below with his wife, fills his time outside work with fun activities such as basketball and video games. He’s also one of GRSA’s resident cooking experts, dabbling often in home cooking and trying out different recipes. 🥘 👨🍳
When asked a fun fact about himself, Mo answered with a couple great facts, “I won a March Madness bracket challenge sponsored by Pluckers wing bar in 2014 that gave me 1 year’s worth of food which I finished in 3 months. I also won a Texas state chess championship for kindergarten when I was 4 years old and can speak, read, and write in English, Arabic, and Spanish.” As if this wasn’t already impressive enough, Mo was also a semi-professional basketball player for 2 years and was even paid to play overseas! 🏀
Mo, thank you for all your hard work! You have been a wonderful addition to the GRSA family, bringing high-quality reliability work and attention to detail on every project you’re on. We are very grateful to have you on the team and are excited to see what you do next! 🎉
