BIG WIN for Central residents! ๐Ÿ’ง

Thanks to our work with Mayor Wade Evans, Central has earned a Class 5 rating from the National Flood Insurance Program!

What this means:
โ†’ 25% discount on flood insurance premiums
โ†’ Saves residents nearly $1 million per year
โ†’ Starts October 1st
โ†’ Up from previous 15% discount

After the devastating 2016 floods that affected 60% of Central's structures, we've been working hard to build better flood protection.

Our team developed innovative solutions including a real-time flood forecasting system that lets residents check water levels during heavy rainfall.

We're proud to help communities become more resilient against flooding while saving residents money.

Way to go, Central! ๐Ÿ‘

๐ŸŒŠ Exciting news!

We're proud to announce that our Early Flood Warning System (๐—˜๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—น๐˜† ๐—™๐—น๐—ผ๐—ช๐—ฆ - https://lnkd.in/gcaS-TCG) is now live in Central, Louisiana!

A huge thank you to the City of Central for their trust and collaboration in bringing this innovative system to their community.

Why is this a game-changer for Central? Early FloWS combines real-time data from multiple sources - including stream gauges, weather radar, and advanced computer models - to predict flooding with street-level precision.

This means:
๐Ÿ  Families get crucial early warnings through city notifications
๐Ÿš’ Emergency teams can position resources exactly where they're needed
๐Ÿš— Better planning for evacuation routes when every minute counts
โšก๏ธ Critical infrastructure (power, water, communications) stays better protected

The best part? The system keeps learning and improving, adapting to changes in land use and drainage patterns to maintain accurate predictions over time.

We're looking forward to bringing Early FloWS to more communities. Every community deserves the best tools for keeping their residents safe when flooding threatens.

This past week has been nothing short of extraordinary. When we launched our "Pack a U-Haul for Hurricane Helene Relief" campaign on Monday, we hoped to fill a truck with supplies for those affected in East Tennessee and Western North Carolina. Partnering with the Louisiana Cajun Navy, we invited our staff and local community to drop off donations at our corporate office by Thursday.

Being from Louisiana, we understand all too well the impact hurricanes and floods can have on communities. Yet, we were unprepared for the overwhelming generosity that followed. By Wednesday, we realized one U-Haul wouldn't sufficeโ€”we needed three. By Thursday, even a fourth truck wasn't enough. On Friday, October 4th, we watched in awe as an 18-wheeler loaded with urgent supplies set off toward the affected areas.

Our hearts are full seeing how our employees, the AEC industry, neighboring businesses, and state entities came together in this effort. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated! A special thank you goes to Louisiana Cajun Navy, Capitol Truck Service, CDI Engineering Solutions, AIA Baton Rouge, Louisiana Secretary of State Nancy Landry and her staff, St. Gabriel Hardware, U-Haul, Ellevate Louisiana, Baton Rouge Rehab Hospital, Westaff - Baton Rouge, Alliant Insurance Services, Inc., Shoppers Value Foods, our incredible CSRS employees, and the many family and friends who contributed.

We live by our tagline: building stronger, smarter communities together. We are humbled by the outpouring of support, and our thoughts are with the communities of Tennessee and North Carolina as they begin rebuilding.

Building Stronger, Smarter Communities Together

Creating strong communities built upon solid infrastructure, efficient facilities, and purposeful development is our mission. As your advisor and program manager, CSRS makes such outcomes possible. We help you plan, design, fund, and implement sustainable projects, recover from disaster with more resilience, and navigate political bureaucracy. So you can achieve your goals today, and well into the future.

Weโ€™re Driven By Your Needs

Most AEC firms are beholden to their quarterly earnings, making it hard for communities and organizations to find a partner that puts their interests first. CSRS flips that script. As development advisors and program managers, we become part of your team, internalizing your needs and making your goals our goals. We look at problems and challenges from your perspective. In close collaboration with your team, we develop and recommend the most innovative, cost-effective approach to get you to the outcome you desire.

Like you, we continually think of how a project impacts citizens and shareholders currently and in the future. By listening first we understand your short- and long-term goals prior to suggesting solutions. We bring together the right resources and the best peopleโ€”our own professionals along with industry expertsโ€”to apply the needed expertise and resources to move your project forward. We build consensus and guide you through the political process to overcome obstacles and keep your vision focused and your project on track.
