Who’s Behind It?

Jessica Barber – First female Director of the Louisiana High School Coaches Association, with two decades of coaching experience at high school, AAU, and collegiate levels. She’s led programs at Southern Miss, ULM, Loyola New Orleans, and Edna Karr High School, where she won multiple district titles and semifinal appearances. Jessica is also a three‑time District Coach of the Year and a former State Farm/New Orleans Pelicans Louisiana High School Coach of the Year. Her passion for mentoring and growing opportunities for women coaches inspired her to help launch HERizon.

Amanda Woosley – A veteran throws coach at Zachary and Episcopal, Amanda is a former LSU All‑SEC javelin thrower and the coach behind 21 individual state champions. A CSCS‑certified strength coach, she has worked at Southeastern Louisiana University and Episcopal High School and now leads training for the USA Throws Project. Named the 2022 Milesplit Assistant Coach of the Year, Amanda is also a frequent presenter at LHSCA, LTFCA, and LAPHERD clinics. Her experience as both an elite athlete and coach fuels her passion for advancing female leadership in Louisiana sports through HERizon.
