Yesterday, reflection was the name of the game. It was my first time back on LSU’s campus in several months—for a special occasion.

With LSU Staff Senate celebrating 50 years, I found myself thinking about my five-year journey—from member to the first Treasurer, then President-Elect, President, and Past President.

As the first Treasurer, I built structure—creating processes, accountability, and a financial foundation to support Staff Senate for years to come. I also brought my background in organizational consulting into the work, developing templates, refining processes, and contributing to bylaw revisions that strengthened how we operated.

As President, the focus shifted to alignment, communication, and leadership across the university. I was also serving as an advisor to Student Government and working alongside Faculty Senate leadership to address campus-wide priorities.

Staff Senate was incredibly special to me—especially the time spent with the executive team. I had the opportunity to bring multiple holiday events into one central location, making it easier for staff to gather and be part of something together.

We also created the first LSU Staff shirt—a simple way to unify staff and highlight the role we play: LSU staff make a difference.

One of my favorite memories—convincing Tammy Millican and Rachel Henry to join a basketball game with the University President and Faculty Senate against Student Government leaders. It was just as fun to watch as it sounds.

I still have the shirt, my President’s gavel, and the proclamation recognizing my service—small reminders of a season that shaped how I lead today.

Grateful for the opportunity to serve—and to have been part of something that continues to grow.

Not every great experience comes from a picture-perfect place—and that’s kind of the point.

One of my favorite parts of what I do is getting to support the people and places I already love.

Magnolia Spa & Nails is my go-to nail salon—right here in the neighborhood on Jefferson Highway at Floynell. It’s full of personality and, more importantly, a team that genuinely takes care of you every time you walk in.

So getting the chance to work on their website felt extra special.

We refreshed the homepage, added clear service descriptions, and made booking appointments easier for their clients (including me 😊). We also added a nail art gallery to give customers ideas and inspiration for their next set.

The goal was simple: create an online experience that feels polished, easy to navigate, and helpful from the very first click.

They’re also expanding and adding massage services soon, which is exciting to see.

A big milestone for me this weekend — the first website project through my business just went live!

Magnolia Neurology Clinic (my sister-in-law’s practice) officially launched their new site on Saturday, and it was a really meaningful project to work on.

My business partner, design, and I collaborated on the brand strategy for the practice, and he created the logo and visual identity. He also designed the website, while I focused on the messaging, copy, and structure to help make complex neurological care easier for patients and families to understand.

I also helped set up the clinic’s page and created the first few posts to get them started online.

When people are navigating neurological conditions, the last thing they need is a confusing website. Our goal was to create something clear, welcoming, and easy to use so patients can quickly find information about conditions, treatments, and how to get care.

Storytelling is one of my favorite things.
