Not every project that leaves our shop involves automation.
Long before Mannetron became known for interactives, simulators, and custom machinery, we built our reputation manufacturing mannequins and other molded products. We still continue that work today, producing large-scale custom castings on our in-house rotational casting machines.
One fun example was this series of 6-foot-tall gummy bear sculptures created for a national candy retailer — and candy lovers may recognize them!
From mold making and rotational casting to finishing and paint, the bears were produced entirely in-house by our team.
Projects like this show how versatile rotational casting can be for creating durable, lightweight, large-format pieces that would be difficult or expensive to produce through traditional fabrication methods.
Whether it’s public art, themed environments, architectural features, retail displays, collectibles, or specialty products, we’re always interested in unique challenges.
If you’re developing a custom product that can’t be built off the shelf, we’d love to talk.
Take a look through the photos to see some of the process behind bringing these oversized gummy bears to life.
