🚨 Heads up, Florida homeowners!
The Water District just moved us into Modified Phase III “Extreme” Water Shortage starting April 3 – July 1, 2026. That means ONE watering day per week for everyone — even private wells.
💧 New watering hours:
• 12:01 a.m.–4 a.m. or
• 8 p.m.–11:59 p.m.
(If your property is under 1 acre, you can only choose ONE of those windows.)
This applies to Citrus, DeSoto, Hardee, Hernando, Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Sarasota, Sumter, and parts of Charlotte, Highlands, Lake, Dunnellon, The Villages, and Gasparilla Island.
Why the change?
We’re sitting on a 13.7-inch rainfall deficit, aquifer and lake levels are dropping, and public water supplies are running low. The District is tightening things up to protect our water resources.
A few other rules you should know:
• Pressure washing for painting/sealing = OK
• HOAs cannot force you to replace plants or increase water use
• Home car washing only on your watering day (with a shutoff nozzle)
• Decorative fountains = max 4 hours/day
• Restaurants serve water only if you ask
🌱 What this means for your lawn:
If you’re planning sod or need your sprinklers adjusted to stay compliant, we’ve got you. This is the time to make sure your system is running efficiently and not wasting a drop.
