It’s never hyperbole when we say we work with and meet the best humans.
From artists who remind us that if you don’t find a new angle you’ll always take the same picture, to Maltsters who tell us we have a responsibility with what is given us, to a brewery who brings all of these parts and people together to make a b**r that tells a greater story than themselves, we count ourselves lucky just to be there with our cameras on.

TBT to Embrace the Funk hosted by Yazoo Brewing. Still one of our all-time favorites.

So proud of our friends, Matt and Andrea, for building their dream. If you haven't been to King Canary Brewing in Mooresville, NC yet, you owe it to yourselves to venture out.

We made some new friends recently and we think it’s the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

The sunset has faded, there's but a tinge,
Saffron pale, where a star of white
Has tangled itself in the trailing fringe
Of the pearl-gray robe of the summer night.
O the green of the barley fields grows deep,
The breath of the barley fields grows rare;
There is rustle and glimmer, sway and sweep-
The wind is holding high revel there,
Singing the song it has often sung-
Hark to the troubadour glad and bold:
'Sweet is the earth when the summer is young
And the barley fields are green and gold!'

Perhaps it’s because the expeditious nature of our own work contrasts too sharply with the shovel and toil, maybe it was the vision of two storytellers living the narrative in boots trudging through 100 plus degree Malt, or potentially it’s the way they speak about culling a chorus out of cacophony of living things; whatever it is the passion of Troubadour Maltings is contagious and the penchant for doing things the old, intentional and slow ways is infectious.

We’ll be following and endeavoring to tell the stories of Craft Maltsters from around the country, and we could not be more excited by the opportunity. Follow along Craft Maltsters Guild.
