It has come to our attention that someone is posing as our company and scamming our customers. We do not have a call center and use only two phone numbers, 231-362-2520 (to contact the office) and 888-468-2828 (for a natural gas emergency). We do have an after-hours answering service, but they do not take billing information or accept payments. There are only three workers who answer our company calls during business hours (8am to 4pm), Krysta, Brandy, and Grace. Please be cautious when searching for our company on Google. The only website we use is secnaturalgas.com.

Our meter readers will be out starting this weekend and within the next two weeks. With the winter the way it has been there is a lot of snow and ice. We ask that you please make sure that your meter is accessible to our meter readers. Providing safe access to your gas meter is the best way to ensure you receive reliable and accurately billed service. In cases where meter readers feel unsafe, they may not enter a property to obtain natural gas reads, resulting in estimated billing. With estimated bills you may have a record of lower than actual usage, leading to a “catch-up” bill, or higher than actual usage, requiring a larger payment.

Also, please be aware that icicles above the meter can fall off and damage the meter. We are noticing this more and more this winter so please be aware and clean off icicles for safety reasons. The meter should be clear of ice and snow allowing the regulator to be able to properly vent.

The bills are currently delayed at the post office. Due to the bills having to be sent to Grand Rapids, they will be delayed a couple of days from now on. Please contact the office or check your account online to get your current balance.
