Honored to bring that message to the faculty at East Carolina University School of Dental Medicine last week! We dug into what proper documentation really looks like and why it matters for every claim, every chart, every patient.

What an honor it was for our CEO and Founder, Dilaine Gloege CDA, CPC to spend the morning with a room full of dental residents stepping into the next chapter of their profession. 🦷

The focus of our virtual workshop?

Documentation and coding done right.

Together, we explored what truly makes
a strong clinical note and how the SOAP note method brings structure and precision to every entry. We worked through selecting the proper CDT codes for a range of dental procedures, always ensuring that documentation fully supports what is coded in line with established coding guidelines.

From there, residents reviewed their own current documentation, identified specific areas for improvement, and practiced transforming those notes into clear, defensible SOAP notes.

We also addressed one of the most critical responsibilities of today's healthcare provider: establishing medical necessity. Accurate, compliant documentation protects both the patient and the doctor, and it is the foundation of ethical billing.

Watching these future dentists embrace these standards with such diligence was inspiring. They are entering the profession ready to do things the right way.

Our CEO and Founder, Dilaine Gloege CDA, CPC had the distinct honor of presenting at the RHIP-TIDES (Rural Health Improvement For Pediatric Treatment In Dental Essential Services) Pediatric Dental Mini-Residency this past weekend.

This comprehensive three-day program brings together dedicated general dentists from North and South Carolina who are committed to serving young children in rural and underserved areas.

During my session, we focused thoroughly on the principles of proper documentation and coding. Accurately reporting procedures is crucial for ensuring ethical billing practices, avoiding compliance risks, and maintaining integrity. I am grateful to share these protocols, as strict adherence to accurate documentation directly supports the sustainability of these vital dental clinics.

A huge thank you to Star of the North Meeting for the opportunity to speak, catch up with friends, and make wonderful new connections. It was an absolute honor to be invited to present.

Delivering three different course topics to at-capacity rooms was an unforgettable experience. The attendees were engaged and brought great energy to every session.

I also want to give a special shoutout to my fabulous speaker host, Dave, for taking such great care of me. Wonderful hospitality!
