On Sunday September 27, 2026 Beaver VFD was dispatched to a motor vehicle crash rollover on Stanaford Rd near Union Hall Rd. Upon arrival we found the driver had been assisted from the vehicle by members of the WV State Police. However, this handsome 🐕 boy was still in the vehicle and refused to exit for the troopers.

Asst. Chief Redden was able to calm him down and help him from the car. Goose was found to be uninjured. After getting out of the car, “Goose” was all tail wags and smiles, making friends with everyone.

Raleigh County Animal Control was contacted by the state police. While waiting on them we successfully located Goose’s dog mom locally with the help of Alexis at the Raleigh County Sheriff’s Office Records Division.

Officer Deck with Animal Control acted as an Uber for Goose back to his home.

Goose gave everyone involved a 5 ⭐️ rating.

The vehicle was removed by Laxtons Towing and the roadway has been reopened.

Shady Spring High School Football is in IMMEDIATE need of athletic training coverage for the 2026 football season.

Football practice begins August 3rd. As of today, if we do not secure athletic training coverage before that date, we will not be able to have a football season.

Athletic trainers are required for the safety of our student-athletes, and practices and games cannot be conducted without an athletic trainer.

This position can be split between two willing individuals, making it possible to share the responsibility if a full-time commitment isn't feasible.

Under West Virginia guidelines, the following professionals may qualify to serve as a Limited Athletic Trainer:

* Licensed Athletic Trainer
* Physician
* Registered Nurse (RN)
* Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
* Nurse Practitioner
* Chiropractor
* Physical Therapist
* Occupational Therapist
* Physician Assistant (PA)
* Paramedic
* Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
