We’re thankful no one was hurt when a local fire engine was hit by a semi on I-75 last night.
To our fire departments and all first responders — thank you for the risks you take every day to keep us safe. You run toward danger so others don’t have to.
Thank God everyone walked away from this one. We hope the driver was ticketed and held fully accountable — this is exactly why Ohio’s Move Over law exists.
Slow down. Move over. Give them space.
We appreciate you more than words can say. Stay safe out there.

Last night, one of our fire engines was struck by a semi on I‑75 while crews were operating at an emergency scene. Thankfully, no firefighters were injured — but this incident is a serious reminder of how dangerous highway responses can be.
When you see emergency lights:
• Slow Down
• Move Over into the next lane if possible
• Give responders space to work safely
These steps aren’t just courteous — they are Ohio law and they save lives. Every day, firefighters, medics, police officers, tow operators, and highway workers stand just feet away from fast‑moving traffic while helping others.
Your cooperation helps ensure we all make it home safely.
