A person who leads (with or without a title) exhibits the same traits.

In the day-to-day grind, it's hard to find time to reflect on how we present ourselves authentically to the world and in the workplace.

But it's important to develop guiding principles AND to live them out in all our experiences.

Tag someone you follow because they inspire you through their actions and interactions and tell them why they are a natural leader in your eyes.

Leaders are always challenged by the day-to-day happenings in the workplace. Their agility in this space is normal and expected.

To drop one task and move to a large project with ease - this is normal for us. To go from a direct conversation with a single employee to a team meeting for multiple departments - perfectly normal.

But what about our flexibility over time? What about our response to societal and organizational winds of change?

Leaders should develop flexibility in perspective, too, taking time to study change and how it will impact the workplace.

Spend time at the start of each week at the thirty thousand foot view.
Then zoom in to ten thousand and see what is required of you in terms of flexibility.

Repeat each week until you train your mind to anticipate changes and trends and to respond easily and accordingly.
