Plan For Spontaneity
Last week my daughter and I were invited to join another mom and daughter for a concert. It was a "work night", the venue was an hour+ drive away, and the plan was to leave early so we could have dinner before the concert. I said yes.
Earlier in my business I definitely would have said no. I used to turn down all sorts of invitations and opportunities during the week (and sometimes on the weekends too) because I felt like I always had work to do. I was new in business, and thrilled for clients to hire me, and I said yes to everything. I had no plan and no boundaries. My schedule was a mess, I was mentally exhausted, and it would have felt way too overwhelming to say yes.
Things are different now. My service offerings and my calendar are strategically planned to balance my personal and family needs, wants, and boundaries whilst also serving my clients. I plan a start time and an end time to my work day. I plan time for breaks. I plan to honor my boundaries. I plan time to catch up or regroup if life or work throws me a curve ball.
Planning all of these things allows me to feel happy and comfortable saying yes to spontaneous opportunities!
I am glad I didn't miss this Girls Night! ♥️
