📣 NEW PUPDATE! Barqs, the medical service dog that Coke Northeast is sponsoring through Guardian Angels Medical Service Dogs Inc, is having a great summer! With the warmer weather here, one of her favorite seasonal activities has returned: time in the doggy pools. She enjoys cooling off in the water, splashing around, and spending time outside in the sunshine.

Recently, she has been spending a significant amount of time building her confidence and resilience through regular visits to Guardian Angels' on-campus confidence-building course. This specialized training features a variety of obstacles designed to challenge and strengthen both her physical abilities and problem-solving skills. Each visit provides valuable opportunities to improve her balance, coordination, focus, and adaptability while helping her become more comfortable navigating unfamiliar situations. Barqs has also been responding exceptionally well to her commands, consistently demonstrating strong focus and obedience.

While she enjoys exploring all the equipment, one obstacle has quickly become a favorite, the sway bridge. This unique challenge requires her to carefully navigate a bridge that shifts and moves beneath her as she crosses. Successfully completing the obstacle demands concentration, trust, and a great deal of balance. As the bridge tilts and swings with each step, she continues to gain confidence and improve her ability to remain calm and focused.

Experiences like these play an important role in preparing her for the many environments and challenges she may encounter as a future service dog. With every new obstacle she continues to build the confidence, skills, and resilience needed to make a life-changing difference for her future recipient.
