Hide-A-Way Ranch Cookers Competition BBQ Team A lot of people ask, “Is Hide-A-Way Ranch a real place?” The answer is Yes! This was his Ranch and his Cook’s Team name.

My Uncle, Jud Perry, owned some land in the black jacks of Anderson, TX. He competed at the local Grimes County Go Texan and Bubba Can Cook for 20+ years. My wife and I would travel from Louisiana to attend these events, and THAT is where my Love of BBQ started! In 2018 he decided to retire cooking and asked me if I wanted to become Hide-A-Way Ranch Cookers. With Great Pride I accepted and here I

Hoping everyone had a BLESSED Easter weekend! We spent ours in Huntsville at the Walker County Fair Cookoff. Maaann what a mess we had out there. Lol But I gotta give a Huge Thanks to the WCFA folks for working their tails off to help everyone be as comfortable as possible.

As the '25 IBCA Points season has ended, we would like to Thank God and Everyone else for their continued support. Hide-A-Way Ranch Cookers finished 2nd Overall, behind Ira Green. Congratulations on your Success this past year!

My Goal for this year was to to finish 1st Place Ribs for the year and God did not disappoint. He Blessed Me with a 1st Place Overall in Chicken & Ribs!

BBQ Update:

The last weekend in May was spent in Madisonville at the MSCA BBQ Cook Off. I had a 7th Place Chicken, 1st Place Rib, 7th Place Brisket for a 3rd Overall Finish!

Then I traveled on up to Kennedale for their BBQ showdown. I had a 6th Place Chicken, 7th Place Rib, 6th Place Brisket for a 4th Overall Finish!

Then I went into Hempstead to support the Joe Davis Scholarship Cook Off. I had a 6th Place Chicken, 4th Place Rib, 6th Place Brisket for a 3rd Overall Finish.

This past weekend plans changed and I needed to stay close to home due to Family. I squeezed my way into cooking at the S.M.O.K.E. Cook Off. There I had a 9th Place Chicken, 1st Place Rib, 6th Place Brisket walking away as the Grand Champion!
