The bill amends the , which exempts qualified active and retired law enforcement officers from local and State prohibitions on the carriage of concealed fi****ms, which ensure that these officers can carry in the same venues as civilian concealed carry permit holders such as schools, national parks, and “common carriers.” The bill also extends the exemption to magazine capacity and would allow active and retired law enforcement officers to access services in U.S. Post Offices, Social Security Administration offices, Veterans Affairs offices, or other Federal facilities without disarming or securing their fi****ms elsewhere. It would also allow States to affirmatively act to extend the period between training certifications for qualified retired law enforcement officers from 12 months to up to 36 months.

Patrick Yoes, National President of the Fraternal Order of Police, applauded the news that Senator John N. Kennedy (R-LA) reintroduced the “LEOSA Reform Act” in the Senate. The bill, S. 1462, has two other original cosponsors.

Our deepest sympathy and condolences goes out to the family of TYRE NICHOLS. Continuous prayers for the family and friends. 💔

We had the opportunity to watched the stationary cameras and body-cam of the incident and found this incident to be extremely disturbing to watch. This was a brutal encounter that should not have happened! No excuses will justify the acts of these officers. The behavior is unacceptable and undermine the integrity of the law enforcement community. These officers DO NOT represent most of the men and women in law enforcement. We are a professional organization tasked to serve and protect communities. We condemn the unlawful violence against civilians. We need to do better! We need to police our own and enforce zero tolerance for unethical behaviors.

The five former Memphis Police officers, Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Desmond Mills Jr., Emmitt Martin III and Justin Smith have since been terminated on Jan. 18th. They are each facing seven counts: second-degree murder; aggravated assault, act in concert; two counts of aggravated kidnapping; two counts of official misconduct; and official oppression.

We appreciate the swift actions taken by Chief Cerelyn Davis on how she handled this matter!

Remember you are your first responder.
NYPD officers were in an unmarked police car investigating an unrelated incident around 11:20am. That is when the 29 year old male double parked a white Lexus at the corner of Hull Avenue and Gun Hill Road around 11:30 a.m. and then entered the bodega.

The 29 year old and the 21 year old got into a struggle inside of the bodega which turned violent.
The 29 year old began stabbing the 21 year old individual. That is when the younger man began firing rounds at the other person who was fleeing, that is when officers returned fire.

The 21 year old was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police later found the 29 year old man near a barber shop and took him into custody as well.

PUBLIC INTERVENTION

There are PROS and CONS. Pages only praising this don’t have any experience in LE nor do they understand the possible civil, criminal and/or physical repercussions of getting involved in a LE UOF.

Yes, it is solid takedown. Got the job done. However, sometimes and usually it’s better to let LE handle the situation.

You have situations, like what happened in Indiana, where 22 year old Elisjsha Dicken stopped an active shooter in a mall. Or an officer who was recently shot in PA and the citizens helped. Perfect examples of justified and necessary interventions.

Just know the risk v reward when getting involved. You don’t want to get sued or worse put in prison or dead over something stupid because you wanted to “help”.
