I didn’t mean to learn CSS.
At 14, I wanted the easy tech class. But I ended up in a web design course where I had to manually tell a computer how to display fonts, layouts, and colors—line by line.
At the time? Annoyed. Confused. Frustrated.
Now? Grateful.
Because when I design websites today, I don’t just stick to templates.
I use CSS to make your wellness website look exactly how it should—clean, custom, and aligned with your brand.
✨ CSS (short for Cascading Style Sheets) is the behind-the-scenes magic that lets me change things like fonts, colors, spacing, hover effects, + layout details that Squarespace doesn’t offer out of the box.
To be fair, I forgot most of what I learned in that class. I didn’t touch code again for almost 20 years.
But when I came back to it? That foundational understanding resurfaced—along with some appreciation for 14-year-old me.
I do have to say, I really wish I had someone like Becca Harpain of 20 years ago. I still learn new Squarespace customization tips from her tutorials every single week.
Ever taken a detour that ended up being exactly what you needed later on?
