I'm sure you all have heard the phrase Super Petunias. Maybe the auction should be renamed to the Super Belleville Produce Auction 😂. The auction lasted for 5 1/4 hours on Wednesday, with 47 consignors bringing in vegetables, eggs, HM Bake goods, HM Butter, Hanging Flower Baskets, landscaping flowers, vegetable plants, house plants, and more. The strawberries were a hot item this week, with 73 pints selling for $1.50 to $3.75 per pint. We had 47 quarts selling for $5.00-$6.25 per quart(these were nice and sweet, per the taste tester).
We only had 287 dozen eggs this week, selling for $0.30–$2.00 per dozen. This week, 63 pounds of HM butter were selling for $3.00 - $4.25 per pound.
Stan Flenner, our Auctioneer, will be on vacation next week. Come and support our fill-in auctioneer, John Kurtz.
If you haven't been to the auction yet, it's a great time to come and have some fun. Bring your neighbor or friends.
Auctions begin at 9:30. Make sure to come early and grab something to eat at the restaurant inside the auction barn.

The Wednesday auction certainly wasn't a horse race; it lasted 4 hours and 45 minutes and moved along well, except when bidders were selecting their flowers. This week marked the biggest auction since it reopened 5 years ago, with 48 consignors participating. In the bidding area, it was difficult to find a seat. We had 269.5 dozen eggs, which sold for $0.50 to $1.50 per dozen. Additionally, we sold 51 pounds of HM Butter at prices ranging from $3.20 to $4.10 per pound.

Local greenhouses are clearing out their inventories, so if you haven't picked up your summer flowers yet, make sure to come to the auction next Wednesday. While I can't guarantee what will be available, I do know that we will have fresh vegetables from local gardens. So join us next Wednesday for the auction! If you get hungry, there is a restaurant and a soft pretzel stand inside the auction building.

Remember, we’ll be starting again at 9:30 AM next Wednesday. Bring a friend or neighbor along!

And don't forget to give us a like and share!

If you weren't at the auction on Wednesday, you missed an incredible event. We had a wide variety of items available, including strawberries from the Kishacoquillas Valley. We offered both pints and quarts, with pints selling for $4.20 to $5.30 and quarts priced at $7.50. This week, we also featured tomatoes, along with an abundance of flowers and vegetable plants. There were so many that they filled the flower racks, tables, and even the space underneath the tables. If you're in the market for flowers, you’ll find they are significantly cheaper than what you’d typically pay at your local greenhouse or box store.
This week we had 306 dozen eggs, which sold for $0.40–$1.10 per dozen. We had 42 pounds of HM butter, which sold for $3.00-$3.50.
Join us for the next auction on June 3. Feel free to bring a friend or neighbor, or come by yourself!

On Wednesday, the weather matched the excitement of our produce auction. We featured all the seasonal items you'd expect, and there was a generous supply. We had plenty of hanging baskets, as well as a variety of flowers and vegetable plants. This week, we sold 212 dozen eggs at prices ranging from $0.60 to $1.60 per dozen. The HM Butter was priced between $4.00 and $4.10 per pound (30 pounds). Additionally, we celebrated the arrival of the first tomatoes of the season from the Kishaquallas Valley.
Join us next Wednesday to see what will be up for auction (perhaps fresh strawberries!). We hope to see you there at 9:30 AM. Feel free to bring a friend and enjoy the day together. If you come alone, that’s perfectly fine too—there's plenty of fun to be had!
