Today (September 2, 2026), we welcomed many new faces, and quite a few of them were a little wet! 😆 We experienced a rainstorm, which caused flea market shoppers to seek shelter in the auction barn.

As this was the first auction of September, we had a variety of seasonal produce, including grapes, turnips, and 36 mums. This week, 32 consignors brought in the fresh items you typically find at this time of year.

We sold 105 dozen eggs at prices ranging from $1.60 to $2.10 per dozen. We also sold 16 pounds of homemade butter for $5.00 to $6.00 per pound.

Don’t wait for a rainstorm to visit the produce auction—come enjoy the fresh produce and great prices! We will be back next Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. to help you stock up for your canning needs, as winter is fast approaching, whether we like it or not. Today (August 26, 2026) was another fantastic produce auction in the beautiful Kishacoquillas Valley, also known as Big Valley. The weather couldn’t have been better!

Attention, pumpkin pie bakers: we are starting to receive Long Neck pumpkins, perfect for your pies. And let’s not forget the apple pie enthusiasts; we have a fresh supply of apples for your baking needs. As expected for this time of year, we have a variety of produce. This week, we had 38 watermelons, 30 cantaloupes, and 29 dozen sweet corn, both husked and unhusked. Additionally, we sold 107 dozen eggs for $1.40 to $2.30 per dozen. We also have a limited supply of homemade butter, with only 10 pounds available for $4.00 per pound.

Auction favorites include three zucchini pies today, which taste remarkably like fresh-baked apple pie.

We know everyone has a little secret spot they enjoy. If this auction is your secret, consider sharing it! Invite someone to join you next Wednesday at 9:30 AM; they will appreciate it, and you’ll feel good about spreading the word.

We’re excited to predict that the next new harvest will be grapes for our winemakers.

Got to the auction at 6:30, and the tables were full of produce to be checked in. About 8:00, it was so quiet you could hear a pin drop; I guess everyone was outside shopping and enjoying the nice weather. Around 9:00, the auction house came alive, people picking out their seats and checking out the produce that would be crossing the auction block. It sounded like a beehive, people catching up with the latest news with their auction friends. At 9:30, the chatter stopped, and all eyes were eagerly fixed on what would cross the auction block first. We had 37 consignors bring in a variety of nice seasonal produce. We had 95 dozen of sweet corn, several varieties selling for $2.00-$4.25 per dozen. We had enough cantaloupes and watermelons for everyone who wanted one.
We sold 101 dozen eggs at prices ranging from $1.40 to $3.10 per dozen. Additionally, we auctioned 10 pounds of homemade butter, which fetched $3.30 per pound, highlighting the variety of produce and products available this week.

We have been fact-checked. Last week, we reported that we sold 98 dozen eggs; we made a mistake. The correct number was 103 dozen, not 98. This week, we sold 99 1/2 dozen at $ 1.40-$2.10 per dozen. We had 24 pounds of homemade butter selling for $ 3.50- $ 4.75 per pound. This week, 42 consignors brought in produce of all varieties, which you will find this time of season.

Where has the time gone? This is our 5th season since reopening the produce auction at the Belleville Livestock Auction in May 2022.
Our mission was to give local farmers and gardeners a needed place to sell their produce without having to travel miles, and consumers a place to buy fresh produce at reasonable prices.
We want to thank everyone for their support, especially our hard-working employees.

August is Pennsylvania Produce Month, and we started it with 48 consignors bringing in their produce. Shelled Lima Beans were the new item this week. We had most of the produce you would expect to see this time of the season. We also had a couple of quarts of strawberries and cherries for bidders that didn't catch them the first time around. We did have a few quarts of peaches (1st & 2nds) and 40 dozen of sweet corn, which sold for $4.00-$4.75 per dozen.
We think the chickens are on vacation or might be found at KFC. We only had 98 dozen eggs, selling for $1.20-$2.75 per dozen. This is the lowest number of eggs in months or years. We had 23 pounds of HM Butter selling for $4.30-$4.75 per pound.
We should, in a week or two, start to see apples arrive. What is your opinion? Leave it in the comments.

The summer auction was fantastic, with a pleasant breeze flowing through the windows of the auction house, keeping the atmosphere comfortable. The only heat came from the excitement of the bidding! Stan Flenner, the auctioneer, didn’t need to wipe his forehead every minute.

At the last auction of July, we sold 28 dozen ears of sweet corn for prices ranging from $4.00 to $5.25 per dozen. We also had 45 watermelons and cantaloupes available. It was impressive to see the variety of produce we have experienced so far, and there are even more exciting items to look forward to in the future.

This week, we sold 101.5 dozen eggs for prices between $1.00 and $2.60 per dozen, along with 23 pounds of homemade butter, which sold for $3.75 to $5.25 per pound.

If you are canning or freezing, we sell large quantities at wholesale prices. Come join the fun next week, August 5th at 9:30am. Bring a friend or a neighbor, or just grab someone off the street.

We had two new items at the auction this week: watermelons and eggplants. There were two varieties of watermelons: Yellow Seeded, which sold for $3.00-$4.50, and Red Seedless, which sold for $4.25-$5.75. Eggplants sold 2/$1.60.
In the egg category, we only had 123 1/2 dozens this week, which sold for $.50-$2.60 per dozen. HM Butter: we had a total of 13 pounds, which sold for $4.25-$7.00 per pound.
Here are examples of the other produce that crossed the auction block this week: Red Beets, onions, Green and Yellow String Beans, Cucumbers, Sweet and Hot Peppers, Zucchini, Cabbage, and HM Bake goods.
