For information purposes for area residents, South 74th Street will be closed starting on 09/07 at the bridge over the railroad tracks by Dorchester Pool. We do not anticipate any response issues from the fire department as we have been dealing with the bridge for some time now. This is just to let residents know the road will be closed.

From St. Clair County Roads & Bridges - South 74th Street bridge over the railroad will be closed for bridge repairs by the Norfolk Southern Corporation starting on 9-7-2026 and lasting for +/- 1 month in duration.

Planning on attending the St Clair County Fair this weekend? Firetrucks from departments around the county will be there at different times to let everyone have fun with firetrucks, including Signal Hill.

Last night members put the final bit of equipment on the new Engine 4712. A lot of equipment was transferred yesterday and the hose was transferred last night. This is the newest piece of equipment that still makes house calls! Thanks to all of our members for the patience and work to get it in service, and thanks to our community for supporting us to be able to upgrade equipment and apparatus to keep you safe!

What a difference 80 years makes. From the first truck, to the newest truck. From mounting equipment to getting supplemental systems in place, work continues on the new truck to get it ready to go in service.
