Next Saturday is the Partner Prenatal Yoga: Comfort Measure for Labor & Birth workshop at Village Green Yoga in Issaquah. It's a nice refresher for parents expecting their second (or third...) baby!

The workshop will include: Discussion and practice of postures commonly used during labor and birth, Massage and comfort measures, Breathing techniques, Relaxation. No prior yoga experience required. I'm happy to announce that we are starting a Childbirth Education series at Village Green Yoga! The first series starts Nov 22 and runs Sunday afternoons for four weeks (skips thanksgiving)

This class is designed for first-time parents or parents who have not previously attended childbirth education.

Focusing on preparation for birth and decision making, Village Green Yoga's Childbirth Education series discusses late pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period, including:

Normal labor and birth
Comfort measures and relaxation techniques to cope with labor
Common intervention and procedures for hospital births, from prenatal screening and hospital admission practices to induction and cesarean
Breastfeeding and newborn care
Self-care during the postpartum period

Workshop fee: $200. This includes the pregnant partner and one support person.

Instructor Sarah Jordan is a Bastyr and Great Starts-trained childbirth educator, a birth doula, a prenatal yoga teacher, and a mother of two (soon to be three)!
