What sets Schroeder Farms apart from other farming operations?
• We can install and fix drainage tile on your field. We have installed over 1 million feet of tile in the past few years. If you are interested in improving your field’s productivity and value through drainage, we would be glad to discuss how we can make this happen for you.
• Schroeder Farms grows seed corn for Monsanto and Pioneer production plants. In 2016, our seed corn fields averaged a 270 bushel per acre equivalent. If you are interested in growing seed corn on your field, we have the contacts and experience to help you make that happen.
• We are family owned and operated since 1884. With father and son tenants, you get experienced farmers, lease flexibility, open communication, technology competence, and long-term stability.
• 4 full-time employees ready to serve you...
Drainage Tile
Schroeder Farms has the experience and machinery to tile your ground. In 2013, like most years, April weather gave us too much rain. On our tiled fields the excess water drained faster, resulting in earlier planted fields, more timely fertilizer and crop protectant applications, faster soil warm up, reduced compaction, larger roots, reduced erosion, and a longer growing season.
• Fields Not Tiled: Corn averaged 204 bushels per acre. Soybeans averaged 58 bushels per acre.
• Tiled Fields: Corn averaged 231 bushels per acre. Using a local RTK base station and Soil Max Gold Digger Pro tile plow pulled by a 9630T John Deere track tractor with RTK for unmatched accuracy, we can install or fix 4 inch up to 10 inch tile. During the 2013 summer, we even installed 7,000 feet of tile in a neighbor’s soybean field with minimal damage to his standing crop. Last December we pattern tiled a 200 acre field. ..
