Some projects just hit different.🔥✨🌙

We wrapped up this custom landscape lighting system in Glacier, WA, and this one is packed with cool details. Every fixture is individually programmable using FX Luminaire Zone Dimming system, allowing the property to completely change its look with the touch of a button.

The centerpiece is a moss-covered boulder with a hidden full-color LED strip tucked inside the natural crack, making it look like the rock is splitting open from within. 🪨⚡

This one was a lot of fun.

Does she look familiar? 👀

She should.

This is Munch, and today she’s celebrating her 10th birthday! 🎉 🦴

Munch isn’t just our mascot, she’s been part of since day one. She was the inspiration behind our logo and has represented our company ever since.

Back in the early days, she was a regular on our job sites, making sure the crew was staying on task…which usually meant playing kickball with her. ⚽️

These days she’s enjoying a well-earned retirement on her private estate, spending her time wandering her mother’s gardens and climbing on her dad’s machines, as pictured here.

If you’re lucky, you might still catch her riding shotgun in the boss’s truck (the crew rides in the back 😎), but more often than not she’s napping under it.

Happy 10th birthday to MUNCH - our mascot, our leader, and the honorary co-founder of Bulldog Landscaping. Here’s to retirement! 🍻 🐾🦴

Client approved…and so did the dog. 🐕 ☀️ Built for views. Designed for relaxing. Days like this are what it’s all about.

This is a project we completed this past spring for a client here in Bellingham. Their backyard was a steep hillside that wasn’t being used, so we transformed it into a functional outdoor space where they can relax, entertain, and take in the view. We also incorporated raised metal garden beds to give them a dedicated space for gardening at home. Glad to see it is getting used.

We stopped by one of our recent lighting projects last night and were absolutely blown away by the creativity and craftsmanship of our team.

The real showstopper? A concealed LED strip light tucked inside a massive split boulder, creating a dramatic glow that looks like the rock itself is illuminated from within.

It’s details like these that transform a landscape from beautiful during the day to unforgettable at night.

Every once in a while, a project comes along where we get to completely transform a space—and this Bellingham backyard was one of them.
What started as a challenging, sloped backyard is now a fully reimagined outdoor living space featuring:
🔥 Elevated patio with a custom powder-coated steel railing and built-in fire pit
🪨 Rock retaining walls to stabilize the slope
🌲 Decorative cedar fencing and gates
🏡 New deck (constructed by others)
🧱 Lower Western Interlock retaining wall
🏗️ Cast-in-place concrete walls (completed by our concrete partner)
🌿 New plantings, irrigation, and landscape lighting throughout
This project required extensive coordination, creative problem-solving, and access through a neighboring property to make it all possible. The end result is almost unrecognizable from where we started.

A quick stop back at this patio + planting installation from last fall and it’s safe to say the landscape is coming to life 🌿
The plantings are filling in beautifully, softening the permanent surfaces and making the entire space feel more natural and established with each season. Projects like this only get better with time.
Next phase: landscape lighting to bring the space to life after dark ✨

Tucked beneath the north side of Galbraith Mountain, this project was all about creating a landscape that feels like a natural extension of the mountain itself.
Our vision centered around a flowing, naturalized flowering space designed for year-round enjoyment — blending structure with an organic feel. The team focused heavily on irregular symmetry and texture, combining corten steel planters, Castohn dimensional steps, steel edging, fine gravel pathways, and rugged Anaconda flagstone to create a space that feels both refined and grounded in the surrounding environment.
