It was an EPICly productive marimba-building weekend here at Bourne Marimbas as our workshop crew completed a Big Bass AND a 3 1/2 octave box resonator marimba, destined for schools in Ephrata and North Bend, Wa. … ALL in 3 days, with particiapants from as far as Charlottsville and Omaha - everyone was super focused.

Just a note here, in case you are wondering what to do with late July: There are still a couple spots open in my 3 day Marimba Building workshop in (coooool) Bellingham, July 26-28. We'll be completing a big Bass AND a 3 1/2 octave marimba, so there will be plenty to gleen. Message me if interested!

HI Folks, FYI and FWIW and BTW - I just finished up three soprano marimbas, if anyone is interested (and in case of any end of the year slush fund surpluses). Two two-octave sopranos with buzzers ($900), and a unique 2 octave-plus an extra 2 notes up to E soprano withOUT buzzers ($950). Late Notice! 3-Day Marimba Building Workshop, Feb 1-3
We'll start Friday afternoon at my Bellingham shop, potentially going into the evening. Then we'll continue through Saturday and Sunday to complete a 3 1/2 octave box resonator marimba. No tubes included on this project, since it's a box resonator, BUT we'll have 3 1/2 octaves worth of bars to get tuned in hands-on fashion. The building of the box is a challenging bit of cabinetry with a lot of woodworking skills at play.
