π± Exciting News for Our Food Systems Community! π±
The Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) has partnered with the USDA to offer $7.32 million in funding through the Resilient Food Systems Infrastructure (RFSI) Program, exclusively for Washington operations. This cooperative agreement aims to strengthen local and regional food systems by enhancing infrastructure for food storage, processing, distribution, and more, fostering greater resilience in our food supply chain.
β¨ Key Highlights:
β’ Purpose: Strengthen local and regional food systems through improved infrastructure.
β’ Funding: Infrastructure grants ranging from $100,000 to $3,000,000.
β’ Eligibility: Farmers, food hubs, processors, and other food system stakeholders in Washington State are encouraged to apply.
β’ Match Requirement: Recipients must match 50% of the project amount. For underserved and qualifying small businesses, the match is reduced to 25%.
