Last week’s Emerging Professionals training session was a great success! The evening combined hands-on learning, meaningful discussions, and networking with peers in the environmental field. A big thank you to Roux Associates, Inc. for hosting, and to our presenters Allie Bailey, P.E. and Will Harson, P.G. for walking us through the fundamentals of low-flow groundwater sampling. Special thanks to US Environmental for the live equipment demonstrations and practical insights — incredibly helpful for field professionals at all levels. From calibration tips to troubleshooting in the field, the session was packed with knowledge and real-world advice. It was also a great opportunity to connect with other emerging professionals over food, drinks, and shared experiences.

The LSPA is pleased to have a presentation by Cyclopure (www.cyclopure.com), the developer of DEXSORB®, a novel adsorbent made with renewable beta-cyclodextrins, used to extract PFAS from drinking water, groundwater, wastewater, landfill leachate, and RO concentrate. DEXSORB is engineered to selectively adsorb PFAS without interference by natural organic matter, inorganic ions, or bioactivity. The LSPA started the “$30,000 for 30 Years” Environmental Justice Awards to support and celebrate environmental and natural resource projects in environmental justice communities in each of the four DEP regions around the state. In the Central DEP region, the LSPA awarded $1,000 to the Regional Environmental Council of Worcester for their annual Earth Day cleanup extravaganza. www.recworcester.org/earthday More information coming soon!
