I hate to tell you this...
But you could be encouraging your baby to wake up before any human should be awake.
You're probably thinking "hooooooow could I possibly be encouraging this? I want to throw the monitor against the wall every time it happens ๐ญ"
Well here's 3 ways you could be and how to stop ๐ฎโ๐จ
๐ You're jumping in too quickly
-if you run in to comfort them as soon as they wake up, they'll take that on as a new habit.
Instead, just let them be if they're just talking or playing in their crib and get them up when it's ACTUALLY wake time.
If they're crying, give them 10-15 minutes to try to fall asleep before comforting them and try to help them back to sleep without taking them out of their crib, slowly progress to more support.
๐ They get to eat as soon as they wake up the br
-i mean, what baby wouldn't want to wake up early if they knew they could wake up and eat as soon as they make a peep? That is one of their favorite hobbies after all ๐.
Instead, after giving them time to fall asleep, change their diaper and jammies before offering their breakfast.
๐ You're too fun!
-this is especially true for toddlers. If you're waking up and putting on the TV for them, they're less likely to sleep later or go back to sleep because they know they're going to get to do something fun!
Instead. Spend the first 5-10 minutes doing something that wouldn't be exciting to wake up to. You could offer them breakfast, feed the pets together, etc before turning on the TV.
This is just one of the MANY things that could be causing those horrible habits. ๐ฌ
The good news is that with some effort and consistency, you and your baby could be sleeping in in no time! ๐
What do you think...do you think you may be reinforcing your baby's early morning wakings?
Still not sure but know that you're ready to make it stop? ๐ฅด
