A recent project - If you’re interested in Adv. Moto Riding and Camping: TWISTED JOURNEYS - Adventure Motorcycle Travel, Camping, and the Experiences while on the road.

Motorcycle Travel, Adventure Riding and Camping with some occasional Overlanding sprinkled in amongst other things.

This channel takes more of a meditative look and approach to Adventure Motorcycle Riding with many videos being what we call "Digital Getaways" - A Reflective look into the heart and soul of the surrounding area as well as the riding experience itself.

I’ve been working on a documentary the past few years about vintage racing - The event known as the Steel Stampede both inspired and started me off on that process. Late 2023 through early 2024 was a difficult time for the Steel Stampede - The event faced many challenges and unforeseen obstacles that could have put an end to this fantastic weekend gathering.

I have to admit, I was worried. However, over the last several years I have found that much of racing mirrors experiences found real life and there are many lessons to be learned from the saddle that transcend into aspects of life other than just riding or racing.

Towards the end of this video I chose to document Brandon Kentner’s last journey around the track - I found it fitting to showcase his experience as his ride at this year’s event parallels the experiences of the event organizers over these last several months perfectly.

Things were going smoothly for both parties when all of the sudden they faced some very large and unexpected challenges - Challenges that could have stopped them both in their tracks and no one would have even questioned it if they went no further.

Through their actions, Brandon (and the people behind this year’s Steel Stampede) taught me when faced with adversity you gather yourself, dust yourself off and continue pushing forward as best you can with as light of a heart as possible - Life goes on and really, it’s too short to get bogged down with excuses not to continue or to face everything without joy and enthusiasm. We’re all so lucky just to be here…

Brandon crossed that finish line with a flat tire, a broken rear wheel, a missing brake lever, and half of his exhaust system missing. However, he didn’t let his experience him slow him down in the least. He celebrated crossing that finish line with more excitement and exuberance than if he actually won the race. (He did come in second.)

We could ALL learn from Brandon and the organizers of this Wonderful event.

It’s been a long journey and we still have quite a long way to go, but I’m finally beginning to cut together the upcoming documentary film, Steel Stampede - Movie. “Look Back Tuesday” - An image I shot of Max King wayyyy back in 2008 here in Bend (Oregon). This is still one of my favorite shots. Max went onto Greatness in the UltraMarathon World. He was the winner of the 2014 IAU 100km World Championships, the 2011 World Mountain Running Championships, and a 2016 Bronze Medal winner at the NACAC Cross Country Championships/Pan American Cross Country Cup just to mention a few. He has also won Numerous National Titles at various distances ranging from half marathons to ultramarathons, as well as winning multiple National Runner of the Year Awards. Needless to say, Max is the Real Deal! You’ve Definitely made Bend Proud! He recently celebrated a birthday in late February, so Happy (late) Birthday Max!!

The Oregon Country Series Intro is Finally Done!

This series is a Love Letter to this Fantastic piece of the planet where many of us call home. Originally, the Oregon Country encompassed all of the states of Oregon, Washington, Idaho, as well as western Montana, western Wyoming, and the lower half of British Columbia. We create standalone episodes, short films, and documentaries of the people, places, and history of this area, as well as give other aspiring filmmakers of the area a place to showcase their own work.

We will be launching in 2020 so stay tuned!!

We took a quick break from filming for The Oregon Country Series to just get away for a day, sit back, and check out the 2019 Oregon International Air Show in McMinnville Oregon. What an experience! Now I wish we would have filmed it “for real” - it was amazing! We’d love to do an in-depth exploration into this event for 2020, an actual “episode” from behind the scenes would be awesome!
